Greetings from the National office of the Pontifical Mission Societies!
This year we are presented with yet another opportunity to celebrate the World Mission Sunday on 16th Oct. 2016. This Jubilee year marks the 90th anniversary of World Missionary Day, which was first approved by Pope Pius XI.
The PMS National office wishes to remind all the Diocesan PMS directors in Zambia that the National Council will take place at Kasisi in Lusaka from the 29th Feb. to 3rd March. All the Directors are expected to arrive at Kasisi on the evening of 29th February. We are looking Forward to see you there.
Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA) assembly has opened, 17 August 2014 with a Eucharistic Celebration at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka, Zambia. ACWECA chairperson Rev. Sr. Margaret Aringo who officially opened the assembly reiterated her organisation’s aim of promoting vitality among the religious in region by reaching 20.000 sisters.
World Mission Sunday will this year be observed on October 18, 2015. World Mission Sunday is a day set aside for the Catholic Church throughout the world to publicly renew its commitment to the missionary movement. Fr. Ngalama, Diocesan Director for Livingstone Diocese expressed his gratitude to the Catholic community of his Diocese for their ongoing enthusiasm in keeping alive the missionary awareness spirituality of the Pontifical Mission Societies in their Parishes.
